I retired from teaching and writing about embroidery, but then I bought an etching press and got a new lease of life! I live in the North West of England, where I grew up and feel that as I am having a new studio built, as I type, I have now become a proper artist! Where do I get my inspiration and energy from, easily answered, teaching and research trips. I found myself teaching an enamel workshop last weekend at New Brewery Arts, Cirencester. It was suppose to be a basic level workshop,. But thanks to the high caliber creatives who took part. Some sophisticated samples were produced. We used very basic techniques, from sgraffito drawing into the dried, wet enamel,. Stamping and sifting techniques and lots of layering.

Each day we were set a task each day with the idea of telling the world and your customers your story and seeing the process that goes into your creations. I really enjoyed taking part, gave my posts something to focus on. I look forward to any similar challenges in the future. Bit of a long post but I hope you enjoy it.
